Going to buy the handgun but can't decide on the caliber. Thoughts from OB, and what would be the max price I should pay. There's a 9mm available locally NIB for $699+tax. I've looked through gunbroker and the prices vary a good bit, but those are still ongoing auctions. I think I can search for completed auctions for a better idea on final sales pricing.

TIA!

No other handguns that are mine. Plenty of riffles/shotguns/ARs. I have always shot my fathers pistols and never had the need/desire to get my own. I can shoot/borrow his anytime. Glock, Sig, beretta, S&W, HK and etc. in a variety of calibers, obviously.

This will be for carry(when necessary), home defense, fun shooting. All around duties. I can't decide on the caliber? Is the .40SW that much more powerful than the 9mm? Need to check on ammo cost as well. So, one gun, which caliber is better for multi purpose that I've outlined?

With today's powder technology, 9, 40, and 45 are about on par with each other. You just have to choose the right stuff.

I'd go 9mm if I were you. You get a higher round count and follow up shots are quicker.

Thanks, that's what I am leaning towards and I can get one locally in the 9mm right now for $699. No 40s anywhere close to me, actually haven't found one at all.

Thanks for the videos you post!

Glad to do it. I'll be adding a new one fairly soon.

I'd go with 9mm myself.

Cheaper to shoot, ammo is easier to find, enough punch to do damage to a perp.
