We do have them in the Gulf of Mexico, so it's not that crazy. I think what makes this case particularly rare is the age of the whale.

sperm whales are common at the mouth of river but that's the only place I've ever seen one

I've seen them while working in VK on the BP Marlin and at ST 316. Not that crazy that a dead one would wash up
