Posted this in IST but wanted a broader answer -

Does anyone hunt directly by the solunar calendar? I went back and checked old dates when either myself or hunting partners killed deer this season and every time it was during major feed times. Part of me doesn't believe it but my evidence of this season may prove otherwise.

By the way - major today is from 10:17 to 1:24. Thought about getting down to eat at 11:30, but my curiosity will keep me in stand now.

Isolunar iPhone App is excellent. I started using it last year and now a firm believer in it.

That's the app I'm using and the basis of this thread. I guess I'll have a late lunch just so I don't miss the peak times. The peak time is 11:25AM

I don't hunt strictly based on it but I will stay an hour later or go an our or two earlier based off of it

I really just hunt when I can. DL'ed the app a few minutes ago and had some questions.

I am guessing hunting the major times is best, but the major combined with the minor basically make up the entire day. Should I be hunting both, or is the major the one to hunt?

Yeah I was looking at it for Poplarville and it has

Minor: 5:45-6:45am
Major: 10:45am-12:45pm
Minor: 4:50-5:50pm

I guess hunting the middle of the day would be best, but I have heard most of them having a party early in the morning and nothing in the afternoons. Is this app for just movement, feeding, or just all around activity?

With fish it is different and I haven't ever used it, so I appreciate all the help I can get. Still haven't shot a deer, but according to this, I have been hunting the wrong times

I've been reading up on these tables trying to figure out if they were hocus pocus, and have find some interesting stuff. The people who say they don't work sound slightly less intelligent than the ones who say it works. Non-believers haven't done any studies at all. I have read about 20 studies that were all longer than 6 months and they all agree that the tables work. Only thing that affects it negatively is the weather.

I have hunted based on the full moon sometimes, but this seems like it is shooting fish in a barrel. It has the peak times down to a two hour window and you are supposed to be out there one hour early and stay an hour later. Gonna use it the next couple of hunts and see how it works
