So I'm splitting some wood, what kind of ants are these and do they bite?

I haven't seen those, but no one can convince me that an ant that big wouldn't bite the shite out of you....

only one way to find out, but I'm leaning towards hell fricking yeah

In all seriousness, they're probably a type of carpenter ant if they're hanging out in a wood pile. Don't let them near your house.

They apparently don't bite. I just let one crawl all over my hand, and I've been standing in them for an hour now splitting wood.

My most recent rick has too many large pieces. What should I buy for small time splitting?

An well placed axe we'll split just about anything. Look for the natural split/crack in the wood and hit it like you would hit an OT 10.
