Lever action makes a great brush gun when shooting moving deer with open sights. I sadly still don't have a lever gun in my collection.

have you ever had a marlin 336c jam on you?
The 30A numerous times. Have had it in pieces in my stand at least twice. Can't recall what the issue was.

ive been reading that shite in Outdoor Life and Field and Stream magazines for 50 years... What does that truly mean? Lever gun shoots a heavier caliber bullet "through the brush" better than semi, single or bolt? bullshite.
That saying has been around for so long that people actually believed it, cause levers were more popular in the 50's and 60's. My first deer gun was a lever action... Great gun, but it sure didn't make a bullet more accurate anywhere.. What it meant was it was a handy gun that shot at least a 30 caliber bullet for relatively short distances. But, i think the "brush" thing was a marketing genius idea, for it fit all of us in the South, and we BIT...

I'm starting my own team for .357 Marlin lever action.

Never jammed, only been dropped twice.

You can't replace the ole time sex appeal of the lever action with any of your other rifles.

Am I the only one who likes the winchester better. I think a scope on a 30-30 is pointless. I only use the gun in areas where shots are close and possibly fast. A scope just gets in the way in those cases and takes longer to acquire the target.

I am guessing no, but top ejection just seems like a bad idea all the way around.

That's 0% of the reason I use one. The ergonomics of the gun are perfect for close fast shots.

I don't like open sights. I'm way faster and more accurate with a low power scope.

the challenge and gratification of the accomplishment is a huge part of the satisfaction of hunting wild deer on enclosed fenced properties!
