One morning, a longtime hunting buddy and I had two to three hundred mallards flutter down all around us in flooded timber. Some were so close it felt like you could reach out and grab them.

We had been hunting together so long and we are always on the same page. All it took was eye contact to know without any words spoken that we were not going to shoot. Just enjoy the show.

How do you post videos? I have "similar" video from a few years ago.

Also, last year, we put the smack on some geese in a situation like that. A few thousand lit about 100 yards away. Then they all got up, came right over and pop pop pop.

Perfect, that's right where I live. I'll be expecting a DM with the details

I was a little curious as to where in NWLA you were seeing these geese

Good thing I have wheels, NELA isn't far!

Couldn't agree more. Someone commented that on the video and they said they were trying to cover up a few curse words.

Love that video & that song. We would blare that song on the whole way to the fields last year when we did our conservation hunt

Our fields are so rutted up from second crop and wet from all this rain. Setting my big spread is gonna be so nasty this year.

This is an odd request, but I need a dead goose from someone. I'm going to Kansas at the end of the month and really need to get my pup used to fetching up a big goose before I go. He's good on ducks but I don't want him to be overwhelmed with a bigger bird.

I'd help you but I have no whole dead goose
