Saw they were running a special, and they offer two in the exact actions I'm wanting. Let me know.

You most likely get what you pay for. Always looked pretty cheap to me

IMO the only people who rave about their products are the ones on their fb page who want to be pro staff baws
stick to academy h20 brand stuff, they take anything back

I've fortunately been able to use/try most all of the top lines of rods over the past 25 years due to my career.

IMO the Castaway rods are the best on the market right now. Quality wise and price point. They have exceptional rods starting at under a hundred $ and on up.

My go to. Was just curious because of the exact matches on the two I need most.

I've got Castaways they gave me to try out back in 1994(new owners now) when I was doing the radio bit in BR. That still perform like new.

When we got with them 2.5 years ago the product was even better.....their high end rods with the Winn grips are incredibly light and perform flawlessly.

I agree. It's the same company as Allen fly fishing, and Allen makes quality products. I can't get over the fact that one of their reels has "RULE THE DEPTHS" or something inscribed on it.

So, does this mean the rods are good? I don't tourney fish anymore. Just need a MH rod for swim baits and another UL spinning.

I'm sure they're fine rods. I have no personal experience with them. Just basing that assumption off of the fact that Allen makes quality fly fishing equipment.

Oh no. I meant one of the SixGill reels. I don't know which one it is, but a guy I know is one of the aforementioned SixGill pro staffer duders and I saw it on social media awhile back.

Brother picked up two sixgill reels on "special". They're pretty much junk after being used a few times. Trying to hit a certain demographic and likely no concern for quality or function.

For whatever it's worth, their rods are off the shelf, mass produced, Chinese blanks that are wrapped to Allen's specs.

a guy I went to school with posted a picture of how he picked up al his revo's and now has like 10 sixgill reels and how good they are. told him he was trying pretty hard to get a prostaff deal.. my comment was deleted with the quickness

also my question asking why they look like 13 reels and asking how they compared to h20 was deleted
