I'm just curious if I can use the same can for 5.56 and 7.62

Yep. I have a 7.62 AAC on my 300blk that I also occasionally use for 5.56.

So how does that work with the threads on the different barrels?

I just bought a 5/8 and 1/2 flash hider for my suppressor (AAC 762-SDN-6). Most manufacturers should offer it, but I'm not positive. You could also use a thread adapter. I don't have any experience with that route, though.

Just trying to see if there is a universal can for my M1A and AR's

Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem. I'll let someone that knows more about it make a recommendation on your particular rifles, but I've had no issues between 300blk and 5.56 with the AAC I mentioned.

I have a SilencerCo Harvester in 7.62 SilencerCo makes a thread adapter that is part of the Harvester. I shoot the 7.62 on a 5.56 without any issues. I think it is less efficient due to the larger bore, but it still works fine.

Its actually more efficient if you use the 5.56 end cap.
More volume = better suppression.

You can buy caliber specific. Most people go with a 30cal magnum rated can as their first. Typically that covers 22 cal CENTERFIRE to 300 win. Careful you don't bend your op rod on that M1A. Do your research before hand but depending on model you may have to modify it.
Have you had anyone use the single shot trust that silencershop has listed on their site?

Thanks for the info. I was on the fence about buying a 5.56 suppressor. This info takes me off the fence.
This board has an impressive knowledge base.

theoretically, yes, but I have both endcaps for my omega and there is no discernible difference when using the 2 on 5.56. I quit using the 5.56 endcap altogether because I'm scared id be shooting with someone and theyd used it on 300blk without knowing better

same here
I can't tell any difference between the 2 end caps with my omega on a 5.56
like you i leave the .30 cap on just in case

What's the deal with that? I've got the loaded M1A with the 22" bbl.

Have the ATF starting implementing this system yet?
If so, who can I spend my money with to ensure I can get a suppressor within 3-6 weeks???
