Sighting in a Crossbow

I am sighting in my dads crossbow for him. At 35 yards there is about a 6 inch drop on the arrow. I am not familiar with them so I don't know if that is "normal" or if the scope needs to be adjusted.
At what distance should there be a significant drop with a crossbow?

That's an issue-should not drop 6 inches at 35, maybe an inch to 2. C-bows shoot faster, flatter than compounds. Mine drops 2 inches at 48-50 yards. Make sure you are shooting in a rest, completely flat.

It seemed odd to me but I have zero experience with bows of any kind, I rifle hunt, so I figured I would ask.
Thanks for the help

does the scope have markers for yardage? where is the arrow at 20 yds? 30?

Here's a chart that will help. If it's only dropping 6" at 35 yards, then that bolt is moving pretty damn fast

Doesn't the string have to be marked so that when its pulled back it is in the same exact position as before ?

Not that I know of. My brother hunts with a xbow and just pulls his back by hand and has never missed a deer. I've also seen those cocking strings with the pulleys on them. They probably pull back pretty straight due the way the rollers pull on the string.
