I posted a similar thead about a travel trailer and the OB talked me out of it. A popup may be able to fit in the garage, is lighter, and would be a lot cheaper.

That depends. Do you want one? If yes, then yes. If no then no.

Sure.

Storage is often the problem with toys.

Have you looked at some of the mini trailers out there now? Some are really cool.

Check out this company called Runaway Campers. Basically it's an inexpensive shell that you can customize any way you want. They make them in Ocala, Florida.

I've been thinking about getting one.

I'd personally take a truck bed camper over a pop-up. I hate being hot as hell or wet from humidity when I sleep, and truck bed campers have more amenities in a smaller package. That also depends if it's just you and the old lady, or if yall have kids to bring along

I love mine and only spent $3,000 on it. It's a step up from tent camping with AC and heat. If you like tent camping and ease of towing, then yes. I've camped in mine all over the state.
If you plan on doing the Louisiana "drive it to a luxury campground, get drunk, and pass out" thing, a popup won't fit in well with that crowd. you'll need a fifth wheel or travel trailer for that.

7 people will not fit into a pop up.

But I have seen campsites where the kids were in a tent and the parents in a pop up.

Mine has great air conditioning and I like it. We take many family vacations in it.

State parks are great, and many State Parks are on the beach.

My personal belief is, no one should ever buy a pop-up camper.

My first camper was a hard shell with pop out beds. HATED IT! I picture a pop up being like hell for former campers.

Why? It's probably my next purchase after another boat. My main use would be as a mobile deer or fish camp, just an easy to tow place to sleep with AC. Is there something in particular that makes them a pita?

The no sides thing. You are air conditioning something that lets the air out about as fast as it's cooled. The increase in moving parts. The increase is parts that deteriorate fast.

Get a hybrid instead,
