Deer camps have various and sundry items to cut and hack with. I have a little pit of a fetish for these things. Here are some good looking ones in a post by outdoor life. LINK

I like # 7 a lot.

here is a picture of the hatchet I keep in my fanny pack. LSWYG

Naw, man you need a real axe.

Plumb Boy Scout Axe Hatchet

I have chop up many trees and built a many fires with this type axe. I have three of them one's my grandpaw from when he was Scout Master, one from my dad when he was in Scouts and mine from being in the Scouts.

I have some experience with the Gransfors Bruk... thats a hell of an ax.
Someone on here posted some company in europe that makes these handmade axes and tools. May have been something Allen or Allen something. I cant remember it was a couple weeks ago. But that was some good looking shite.

Those are extremely expensive hatchets, more so than the Bruk which is saying something. For an ax or hatchet made with quality, properly tempered and ground tool steel it's hard to beat Stihl forestry axes. Hard to find though. Husqvarna axes you can find on Amazon and they are excellent if you don't mind doing the final sharpening yourself.

I'm definitely getting a Spax (#9) for my bugout/SHTF box.

Multitasking like a mug.
