I want the Hobie Pro Angler with the mirage drive.

Being that it will be my first yak, I think it may be unwise to go all out before I discover if I even have the time, space, and the want to fish from one enough to make it worth my while.

What about a yak paddleboard hybrid?

Suggestions??? Feel free to try and beat my run on sentence.

I want to fish for specks, reds and even some ponds.

How much do you want to spend? The hobie pro angler is great but it's heavy as shite and almost double the price of 2 or 3 yaks that are just as good or better.

Yeah, either don't shop for one, or get used to having a finger tickling your butthole. Might want to tell your buddy to lick it before he enters

About a $1 I can afford the hobie, but I hate to shell out for something I may not even like or use enough to justify the cost.

What I'm drawn to on the Hobie is the mirage drive. Not sure If I want to paddle between casts.

I've never been out in a yak or fished from one. So, I have no idea what I really want.

If hobie, then get an outback

If not, KC

Try renting one before you buy. Make sure it's a good fit for you. Cheap yaks and mountain bikes are all over craigslist because someone bought the wrong thing.

Get a KC Kayak. Can stand or sit. Can customize as you go. Super stable

The mistake I'm trying to avoid.

Reading some of your threads makes me want something I can take to your neck of the woods and explore.

Do people bowfish out of yaks?

Doubt it. No way you could get substantial light to see anything.

Not sure, but I would think I could get an extra seat on a KC, flip it over and push it o the front and mount a light? Be a tough go though! Paddling and shooting
