Anyone been out to Sherburne lately. How do you set up targets? Do I need to bring tape/clips with me or what? TIA

The supplied targets have thin plywood backing, but they are usually pretty well shot up. Cardboard backing is a good thing if you have some to bring.

I usually prefer staple gun to attach targets.

Be sure to follow their rules

According to info on the LDWF website, everyone in your group needs at least some license, can be a "cane pole license".

And each user must also fill out one of the permit tags at the entrance. Put the top part in the drop box, each user keeps the middle part of the form, and bottom part of each users form goes your dashboard.

You can print the permits before you go. Here's a link:

Self clearing permit form

I've never been checked for the license or the paperwork, but these are the rules as I understand them.

Oh I know where Sherburne is. It's been years since I've been. Just didn't know exactly where the range was.

Coming off of the bridge and entering it there's a campground. Is the range close to that?

Here is the google map. Zoom out to see Krotz Springs and Hwy. 190.

the best route to the range is from the North side, which comes off of Hwy. 190 - it is a gravel road - you have to exit 190 right before the bridge to Krotz Springs (tall bridge over the Atchafalya) and pass under the bridge. Hit the gravel road and don't get off until you see the big sign and a building set back where the camping area is located, from there you should be able to find it on that map without any issues. One range is rifle (to the right) and one is handgun.

Map

Hope this helps
