We have been lucky for quite awhile but the hogs are here. I've hunted on this place since 2002 and have never seen any sign much less a hog. We started getting them on camera about a month ago along a feeder creek for the west fork of the Amite river north of Liberty,Ms. I put out some mo bucks last week just to see if it would get a response. Those turds ate 50 lbs in one night. Well,a buddy of mine has a huge trap and we set it this evening with clean corn. I will check it Wednesday and add diesel/corn if needed . Now we wait..... Die piggy piggy. Pics of dead piggies coming soon I hope.

I would try beer and corn or grape koolaid and corn instead of diesel if you plan on eating it.

Ok.... We may eat some but I just wanna kill as many as possible.i just want the deer to leave the corn alone in the trap.

I have pics of a big sow with 6-8 piglets. I hear they have 2-3 litters a year.

Is there any particular reason to not eat the pigs? Or do the yotes just get the left overs after it's been cleaned? I ask because if you are tossing the whole animal I'm sure someone would be willing to take the unprocessed animal off your hands. I use to have an arrangement with a guy up around Fort Adams who would call me when he had pigs in his trap. If I could make it to him within a reasonable amount of time, I would re bait his trap in exchange for the dead pigs. Worked out awesome until he moved to an area without pigs.

Man you're lucky you're just now getting hogs. I'm not far from you (between where the east and west forks come together) and they've been bad here for years. You'll do pretty good with a live trap at first but they wise up to it pretty quickly. Good luck

New stand location for this year, and it's infested with them.
You can kill every one you see and you will never put a dent in them. Good luck - it's a losing battle.

You're correct, you probably will not hunt them into extinction. Trapping is the best answer imo.

OP you might need to pre-bait that trap for a good while in order to get them coming to the trap and feeding inside the trap with some comfortable. I monitor mine with a camera, and when usage peaks I set the door trigger to catch. good luck.
