Sea Foam saved my arse today
Posted by LSUwag on 1/5/14 at 4:29 pm00
I was at my beach place in St Augustine and my truck died on me. It went from running fine to barely being able to make it through an intersection. The check engine light was flashing like crazy. I limped it to a service center and they read the codes. It had multiple cylinder misfire and a few bad coils being indicated. I had them fix everything and it still had issues after replacing the entire ignition system and a tune up. Talking with the mechanic we both agreed that maybe we had a really bad tank of fuel that screwed everything up. I got two bottles of Sea Foam and gave it a try and sure enough, it worked. It runs like a new truck now.
I have to say, I'm impressed with that product. I've always laughed at the instant replies on car problem threads to use Sea Foam but, I am a believer.
It is a six year old truck and I've never turned a screw on it so it was well past due for a tune up anyway.

I've been hearing it was worth trying but I'm not sure what my benefit would be.

May not apply to all diesels but I know that running that stuff through a 7.3 powerstroke is a horrible idea.
