I'm admittedly biased (see avatar) but the M&P is better imo

Definitely in grip but I'd argue the trigger is better as well.

Everything about the M&P is better. The SD9 is S&W's "budget" gun for $300. It is a redesign of the shitty Sigma.

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra coin for an M&P. Watch my reviews of M&Ps and I think you'll be sold. My M&P Core is my baby.

Get that partially serrated tanto blade away from that beautiful handgun.

There are some serious blade aficionados on this board with strong opinions. I'm very satisfied with my half serrated tanto...

I actually like half serrated. I can dig into stuff better when I need to and not worry about it slipping out

Tanto on the other hand.....

Damn I wish a retention duty holster was made to carry a full sized pistol with a red dot sight. So much faster on sight acquisition.

It's helped me immensely in acquiring the sights quickly and has made my follow up shots quicker. It's also helped me learn to shoot irons with both eyes open since I use that RMR with both open. Granted it's easier with the dot, the practice I've been getting has helped.

I wouldn't mind an sd9 for a bullet burner though.

Always appreciated. I may be doing a new topic today. Check back periodically.

You'll hate the trigger.

You won't fall in love with the M&P trigger. But at least it's quite decent and can be improved further with an Apex kit.

Apex also has a spring kit for the SD line, but it doesn't yield the same results. Kinda like pouring perfume of dog poop -- (it's definitely an "improvement," just not much of one).

Buddy of mine has 2 of them. I shot it once.
It was hideous. I tried to steer him away from the SDs but he likes cheap too much.

There's nothing to think about, assuming you're looking for a self-defense weapon.

The M&P is a top tier pistol.

The SD is near the bottom of any CCW ranking (slightly above the Kel-tacs, Hi Pernts, Diamondbacks and Tauri).
