Scope recommendations (around $1,200) for 6.5 Grendel AR

Putting together 6.5 Grendel AR for mostly target shooting, would like to be able to shoot it long range (600 yards or more). Its going to be heavy so I'm not worried about weight of scope.
I may bring it deer hunting but it would be box stand and thats not a real requirement.
What do you guys recommend in the $1,200 range? I've looked at the Nightforce SHV and some of the Meopta lines but I'm not sure if I would need more distance than 14x.

Go to Cabelas bargain cave online and look at the Cabelas Euro for $500. It's a Meopa. Also, a couple other brands that look interesting.

Anyone have experience with this? Seems like a great bargain for 25x.

I generally wouldn't go that high of magnification for that amount of money.

For the price of the Z3 you can get a Leupold vx6 with a much higher mag range. That is the route I went after looking at them both and they were neck and neck for quality. The Z6 blows them both away but that is at 2x+ the money.
Regular duplex go 3-18x50 vx6
More of a longe ranger reticle go 4-24x52 vx6
Just my 2cents

+1 on this optic. I have a 3-15 on my 6.5 CM. Its a FFP with pretty good glass for 2K built on Steiner technology. The SCR reticle is really nice. I bought mine from Sportoptics they are great guys.

Vortex warranty is second to none.
I have 4 of their scopes and will be buying more.

Looking hard at this in 5-20X. Is the illuminated reticle worth the extra $130 for long range target shooting?

No.
For hunting its nice.
Not necessary for shooting paper.
