I just got a 17 for Christmas. Any recommendations on what kind of scope to put on it?
Thanks in advance

I have a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 on mine. Works great. Think i picked the scope up for about $180

There is no recoil and you probably won't ever have to squeeze the last few minutes of shooting time out of it so spend your money on something cheap clear and powerful that doesn't do the other two well.

I looked on Amazon and bought one. I think it was $40. It's awesome for a 17, you don't need anymore than that.

bsa sweet 17. They are cheap, and they are perfect of the 17. Have one on both of mine, and on my dads. Wouldnt have another scope on my 17.

I've got a Mueller 4.5-14 All Purpose Tactical on my 17 Mach 2 while my son's 17 HMR has a Mueller 4.5-14 APV. Ive been VERY pleased w/ both. Mueller scopes are very highly regarded on Rimfire Central.

I have the APT and have been completely happy with it. I'd use that scope over a VX3 any day. I have a VX3 on my ought 6. Just not sure how the Mueller would hold up to it, but they say it is good for a 300 win mag

My thoughts, as well. I'd feel comfortable putting a Mueller on any rimfire as well as gently recoiling centerfires up to 220 Swift.
