Was hunting Lake Pontchartrain near Lacombe this morning. Didn't get much shooting but the migration of ducks across the lake was unbelievable. From about 6:30 to 9 there were clouds of ducks constantly flying. Must have saw at least 3-4 thousand ducks this morning. Just seeing all those ducks made it worth sitting out in the cold without killing a bird.

Couldn't really tell because they were so far off. Did see what looked like a big group of buffleheads going across as I was leaving. Definitely one of my most memorable hunts.

We have good populations of ducks in both PAC and Salvador WMA's. We hunted PAC this morning and shot 2 limits pretty quick. Mostly Greys. Buddy scouted Salvador and saw good numbers of mallards and Greys in a few of our ponds. Will hunt there Thursday morning.

Most likely. As a kid, me and a buddy use to chase them down with a 10' boat and 3hp motor shooting them with pellet guns out by Lincoln Beach. This was back in the late 1960's.
