Looking to get a handgun for my wife...anyone have experience with the LadySmith or the AirWeight revolvers?

Or should I go with a semi-auto pistol, maybe the Bodyguard 380?

What Mrs. Missouri Waltz carries. S&W 38 Special, Model 642, Airweight, Crimson Trace. This pistol has a 12 pound trigger so you might want a gunsmith to lighten it up some.

My wife has an airweight, she really likes it, she likes it better than the 380 that she use to carry

Airweight all day long over the Bodyguard.

Not a huge fan of the body guard it's not as reliable as I would like it to be. I'm also not a huge fan of revolvers either because they are terribly hard to shoot and generally require a more skilled triggerman than most people are. That being said let your wife shoot the smith 38 and a ruger lcp and a khar p380. Let her decide which one she can shoot the best and be more likely to carry everyday.

I am a big proponent of semi-auto over revolver...but don't go with the Bodyguard, it has a really long trigger pull and is difficult to be accurate with for inexperienced shooters.

I don't know of anyone who enjoys shooting a bodyguard.

Glock 43 or 26 would be a much better choice.

I REALLY miss my airwieght. Had the bright idea a few years ago to consolidate down to a few pistol calibers and sold it. Gonna have to pick another one up soon.

If you want a compact revolver the ruger LCR is far above and beyond everything else on the market. The trigger is fantastic and the frame soaks up some of the recoil which can be horrible on those small guns.

A ruger LCR in .357 Magnum (slightly heavier gun) loaded with .38/spec is a good self defense setup.

An LCR loaded with .357mag would be a lesson in pain management.

You might have her look at the Ruger LCR as well.

The Bodyguard sucks to shoot. The trigger pull is like four feet long, and the sneaky hammer is distracting

What Downshift said. I have a .357 Smith and it's a fine gun. The Ruger is considerably lighter.

The one positive of the bodyguards trigger is that it is such a long pull you can put it in your pocket and or bag and not worry about an AD.

+1 for the Airweight. My wife carries it, and she can handle the heavy trigger just fine.

Former gymnast so her grip is pretty stout.

I have an airweight 38. I like it. For up close protection it will work. It's light, simple, small, and fits in just about anything. Some girly men complain about the small light size and the power of the 38 making uncomfortable to shoot. Its a frickin hand gun. It goes pow. Shoot it and befome familiar with it. It will not win a shooting competion but it will fend off an arse raping bad guy that's trying to steal your wife's purse.

442 or 642 is a great choice for cc. they aren't very fun to shoot though but nothing that small is going to be.

I have a LCR in 38. Even with the nice grip, i hate shooting it. Piss on an ultralight snub nose.

Dude, let the arse raping bad guy have her purse and let him be on his way. Sometimes, it's just not worth it.

Now, if you felt he was going to physically harm either of you...lower the boom.

Yes...yes it is. Not to mention you're on the wrong side of the argument.
