Did RTIC run into problems with the sumner 17 new product line? I've been shopping the website for months & most items are sold out or "coming soon"? WTF

They DID have to change design bc yet I sued them. They also dumped all their inventory at deep discounts earlier this yr bc maybe they were afraid the judgement would make them destroy unsold inventory. They may have depleted stock and are trying to bounce back

they probably just haven't had time to get inventory built up for the new line.

Lost what? Not the lawsuit. RTIC settled and had to redesign their product line. How did YETI lose?

As has been stated, when the lawsuit wrapped up and RTIC had to discontinue their coolers and do a redesign, they dumped the old ones at really low prices. They have been changing their design and will be releasing the new coolers soon. FYI, they didn't change much, I think they have two drain plugs and a slightly different lid and that's it. And the price will still be half of yeti so continue to buy with confidence.

As to who "won" the lawsuit between them and yeti.....sure RTIC had to discontinue selling for a few months and pay yeti money. But think about this, they now have a large user base and have marketed the hell out of the coolers being the same but cheaper than yeti. When they start selling the new products, I bet demand picks up right where it left off. So who was the real winner here.....I'd say RTIC. I see lots of other companies trying to break into the premium cooler market: Kuer, frio, and some others I can't think of now. Most don't have near the amount of people that even know about them or marketing level that RTIC has.

Don't work for them, just a fan of saving myself and others money. All I own is a 65qt like you and a 30qt soft side. Have bought several soft sides, one 45qt, and tons of cups as gifts for people though.

I used to laugh at the dorks who'd pay $400 for a cooler, always said I'd hate myself if I paid that much for a cooler. Then rtic came out and I got one. I still hate myself, just not as much if I would've paid twice the amount for it....

The Rtic appears to be about the same price as the Ozark trail cooler. I bought an Ozark soft pack. It's not nearly as good as the others, since it isn't leak proud. But for $40, it's a good day use cooler or for paddling. Sam's has a legit looking soft pack for $140. But at that price, I'd rather have a rotomolded Rtic. If I wanted another soft pack, I'd rather have one that's a backpack for festivals.

It looks like late August for the Rtic ship date. It's $199 with free shipping now. But on a purchase like this, I'm still looking on Craigslist to find a used rotomolded cooler.

My cousin bought a 55 QT igloo on Craigslist for $100. So since an Rtic won't be here until after summer, I'm not in a rush to buy one. Anymore than $200, and I would just feel like a sucker. I'll set an alarm in early August, and buy one if I don't find anything by then.

A cooler that big, might need a custom set of truck nuts.

I have one of each and they're very comparable in function. I probably use the Igloo from Sams a bit more for some odd reason. Maybe because I stuck a couple of nice LSU stickers on it.

I've seen the makers mark. It's not any cheaper than an Rtic, if I remember correctly. Plus, if I'm camping this summer, I have access to a good cooler. So I'm not in a big rush
