Need a good casting rod for frogging and pitching. So over 7', but what action/power though? Looking around the $50 price range.

Get a heavy with a fast tip. It's not proven but I am starting to think all name brand rods in the $130 and less category are using close the same Chinese blanks. I am not putting down on them because I have quite a few and they have done me well.

I recently jump up to the $200 category and have a new Denali Lithium Series Punch rod showing up tomorrow. Can't wait to try it and see if there is a difference.

I have 2 Vendetta's. I liked them too but they are a little heavy.

I loved All Star when they were made in Houston, TX. Now China. I still have 2 that were made in Houston and they are still in tact.

I have recently tried out fenwick hmg and I can honestly say it is an amazing rod. I have it in a 6'9 ml fast action and a st croix avid 7' ml fast both with stradics on them and I go for the fenwick every time. Now I know that those rods don't fit what you are looking at but they are proven rods for me in that setup id be willing to be something in a med heavy range of those two poles would be great

I just built a rod for this same purpose and absolutely love it. It's 7'3", 12-20 lb., 5/16 - 1 oz., Fast Action, Heavy Power.

Buy the 7'4" blackout rod for 79.99 from no 8 tackle. Worth every penny plus some.

CastAway Invicta's are one of the lightest rods I've ever fished & the Winn grips are the icing on the cake.

Very sensitive and has backbone

Interested in these. I'm a falcon lowrider guy through and through but I picked up one of these in a store not too long ago. Felt nice.

Good luck finding a good one in that range. I like my Dean Rojas frogging rod, but its about $100 out of your price range.

Having the right rod for frogging and Jigging is very important. I've seen so many fish missed by people simply using the wrong rod. Gotta have a good backbone for both styles of fishing.
