Sorry for your loss, Roger. Sending thoughts and prayers for all involved. And, I always enjoy your posts - you're a talented writer.
Godspeed to your Pops. Lost mine eleven years ago at the age of 62 and still think of him daily.

I'm sorry Roger. I know how bad this has to hurt, and I hate it for you and your family. You have the opportunity to pass on his legacy! So be the man he was for you, for everyone you can! Pass on his greatness as best you can.
My dad is having a ton of health issues they can't figure out. I am terrified I'll be making a post like this sooner rather than later. My son will be here in Sept, and I am hoping my dad has a lot of years to spend with him. I am also hoping that I can be even half the father to my son, that my dad was to me.

Nice tribute Roger. Wonderful to have had a strong relationship with your dad even if it was somewhat private.

So very sorry for your loss, Roger. I'm driving over to Eunice today to pray by my recently departed friend's grave, and will include your family in my prayers

Beautiful tribute Roger. A good reminder for me to quit putting off a lunch date with my Dad. Sorry for your loss.

I write this through blurred, tear- stained eyes. As I said yesterday, we lost Dad in 1986. In November, I will be the same age, 65, he was when he passed. He sounded a lot like your dad, both finances-wise and the loving and caring part. MSWebfoot and his younger brother got to spend time with him, fishing, bbq-ing etc a few months before he died. They still talk about it.
And now mom is in the hospital. I don't know what will happen but I do know how wonderful she is even at 92.
My generation is a sad standard bearer to that one, the Greatest.
RIP my Dad and yours!

He may have not found his way to financial success, but it sure sounds like he had a great love for mankind and left a fine mark of, in which the entire world can benefit from. Your insight, experience & knowledge on this silly bulletin board has always piqued my interest and without him we would not have the pleasure to enjoy your insight.
Sorry for your loss Roger, may he rest in peace.
