I have a 2 year old Craftsman with a Briggs & Stratton 6.75 engine. The mower is great unless you shut it off to empty the bag or refuel on a hot day then it takes a freaking hour to cool down and start again.

Recommend me a better push mower. I don't want to deal with this shite every summer.

I had a Honda HRX for many years until I decided to get a small ZTR. Cranked every time and left an amazing cut. No problems at all.

Its going at the end of the driveway next weekend with a for sale sign on it.

Honda.

Mine has a Honda 160 engine and isn't self propelled or anything like that. Have never had to pull the rope more than once since I brought it home.

Cheaper potion is Troybuilt with a Honda engine.

Next option is to get a Honda mower. They are expensive but worth it

Either look on Craigslist/Facebook for a used Honda, or go to Lowe's and get the troy built with the Honda engine. Was $250 when I bought it 7 years ago. Still starts on the 1st pull. Very very low maintenance.

If you could wait until the end of the season you can pick up a Honda mower much cheaper. I got the GCV160 rear self-propelled for less than $300 last Fall.

Bought a Troy Bilt TB240 for my folks. Has a Honda engine.
No problems yet. Built sturdier than most other brands I've seen.

I would buy Honda 10/10 times. They dont make a ZTR and I am tired of baking in the sun for 2 hours each week. If it rains and I cant get it done a week and have to double cut, 3.5 hours.

Itll be in Denham for first buyer next Saturday, price coming shortly.

I have the husqvarna rear wheel drive with Honda engine. I really am blown away at how reliable and easily it cranks up.

I have a Honda, but it doesn't start any better than my last three Briggs engines. It's just better overall for other reasons. Mostly blades and bagging.

Dude, are you seriously trying to say a Briggs is as good as a Honda?

My Briggs & Stratton starts on the first pull. It's after I stop to refuel or empty the bagger that it won't restart for 30-45 minutes. Nobody has time for that shite.

My buddy across the street has an electric start Lawn Boy that has been flawless for him. It has a pull start for back up but the electric start has worked well for him.

He's had it for close to 10 years.

Now don't fanboy out over Honda. B&S makes very good engines, I've had several that outlasted the equipment they were bolted to. Even the "Chonda" clones in my generator and woodchipper have been easy starting and trouble-free.

As for the hot starting problems, check the valvelash. Brother had a Honda Ruckus that wouldn't restart without cool down time and a simple shim kit fixed it.
