Just picked this up... Dropped all my 9mm glocks for P30s a couple years ago b/c I was sick of the slide bite but this new beavertail is a game changer in my eyes.

Threw some 10-8s on it and the medium beavertail to match my 1911s. Also, cut the trigger guard a tad higher and added the oem smooth trigger with a ghost 3.5. Might have to look into changing the grip angle. Yummy :)

Trying to decide whether I should put the beaver tail grip on mine or not. Just have the stock one on right now...

When I told one of the best gunsmiths in the Houston, TX area that I was buying a HK-P30...he told me to buy two of them, because I would need one for spare parts.

He has a stellar reputation and is quite searchable on the web and on 1911 forums.

Although the quality of the HK is second to none in the polymer pistol realm. HK really flubbed up the LEM trigger on the P30, the reset is way too long. If the reset was that of the HK45C, the P2k, or the awesome walther PPQ, it would be the perfect polymer pistol. I also think the P30 mag release is the best there is. Glock's reset is light years above my P30.

The P30 is definitely a love/hate relationship.

Fantastic pistol.
IMO the most underrated polymer pistol on the market.

sounds like the guy who told my buddy to get Colt because they make the "best AR, hands down. There is no comparison."

just because he may have had a shitty one doesnt mean they're all like that.

What are your feelings on the new mag release? Should they have left it euro-style?
