They look cool. Ive shot rage before....worked well but they never last many shots. I would rather old school muzzy or G5 heads for the money savings.

the Rages have been know to bounce off bone when the angle of the shot is less than ideal. All the stores are sold out of them though.

That said, when you use a mechanical blade you increase greatly the number of things that can go wrong with your shot. Get a good fixed blade broadhead and take all those variables out of the equation.

You're assuming head failures that will never, ever happen.

actually the failures of the mechanicals, the rage in particular, are well documented.

He didn't limit it to Rage, and I have come to believe these mech failures live with black panthers and sasquatch. You cannot trust a review on shot placement and result at all from people. It's really sad.

I might be a tad m bare assed to say how many deer I've killed with spitfires, since they were invented,, and interestingly enough,, none of these "mechanical variables" that you type of, have ever taken place. Are you speaking of your own experiences,, or, from "what you've read"?

I saw a Rage fail LAST YEAR that did not hit the ground. It hit bone and broke a blade. Also, you cant shoot them at a target. I know they have practice heads, but if you dont have that, you cant shoot your broadheads at a target.

And what are you talking about shot placement for?

Short side option. Pitch dive. Madonna headset. Stares down receiver. Throws off back foot. Favors seniors. 50's offense.

What bone?

The failure stories, which are pure myth, always come with the line, "My shot was perfect".

Well to be fair, a mechanical head is more likely to have mechanical problems than a non-mechanical head. That isn't debatable.
