Where do the heads mount -- under the hood, or on the windshield ?

As far forward as possible, but you want them kinda protected. Just the front part has to be forward of whatever is next to it. I had to make some brackets and weld them to my brush guard because that's the furthest point forward on my truck. They don't go on your windshield. Just the surfaces up front that can reflect a laser forward

I've got to go get my schoolbag in a bit, so I'll take some pictures

$2400?? LINK

Lol no. I can get a lawyer each time for $100 and have them moved to non-moving violations. Plus I run Waze. I haven't used a detector in over ten years. When I did use a detector and had fast cars, that's when I had all the tickets. I can drive a work truck at 80mph all day long and no one bats an eye.

I got it when it was like $1800. I was getting between 2 and 6 speeding tickets a month back then, and my people were getting annoyed

Your next question is probably gonna be, "Why don't you slow down?". The answer is because I don't want to

I got it, I miss those days. "Dad.. I need money for Mr. Stanley" (the lawyer) Another reason I don't have a detector, but I don't want to say it because I do believe in jinxes. I had just said I hadn't been pulled over in a while and got pulled over last weekend. So I am not jinxing the speed ticket thing. lol

I actually have the same name as a prosecutor in a parish where I used to get a lot of tickets. I fought one there, and got to know him after that. He'd always just take care of them. I've just grown up knowing a lot of people for one reason or another. I think I've only paid a lawyer for one or two tickets.

Here are two of the heads on my brush guard. They look crooked, but aren't. I guess it's just the way the truck is or the angle of the camera. I need to adjust the bracket for the one on the expanded metal a little since that one isn't level with the horizon

so if you don't have a jammer you're screwed

This is only true if you have an active jammer, the legal kind of jammer won't do shite because it only tries to jam the signal once a signal is detected... Which is already too late for a laser speed trap.

They are both legal, and both work. I have one and can attest to that.

Are you a cop?

I'm an owner as well.

The new Passport Max 2 has directional arrows, bogey counter and offers better laser detection (I know ... I know ...) than previous model. Detection range is supposed to be as good or better than V1, but less than Redline.

How well do those things work in, say, I-10 St John Parish at 0600?

I used to often travel this stretch around this time frame. V1 works well. Pair it up with Waze and you should be set.

Laser jammers are govern by the FDA, the same one that oversees the scanners at the grocery store. Laser jammers are legal to use in the majority of the U.S., however you should check your state law as well.

Active radar jammers are govern by the FCC and are illegal to use.

No. I'm not gonna be wiping down the whole front of my truck with some stuff that may or may not work at all

I'm sure somebody on this board could get their hands on some expired F22 paint for your truck

2300 dollars for laser jammer? wtf lol. I'll just take my speeding tickets for 200 bucks lol. The only way I could see something like that worth it is if A.) you're rich af and don't have anything else to spend your money on or B.) You travel often for work on the interstate

Side note, are cops sitting on the interstate using radar or laser?

From my understanding, Veil can be used as a stand-alone product to help reduce effective range of laser gun or with a laser jammer, in case a punch through happens with a jammer.

In general, in the car = radar, and outside the car = laser. It all depends if they want to be lazy or not.

They do have cheaper versions

The front of my truck is covered pretty well. I just don't feel like wiping stuff all over my brush guard that probably won't work due to the brush guard

Alright, so I guess a radar detector for the interstate isn't a bad idea, because I don't think I've ever seen them outside of there vehicle.

But the cheaper versions don't work as well, or any at all, correct?

My main reason for radar/laser jammer would be for town, as in that is where most of speeding occurs, I usually stay around 80 on the interstate because if not I get shitty gas mileage.
