Question for The Last CoCo, or anyone else familiar with Old Town/ Gheenoe boats

Looking at getting an old town discovery sport so I can put a small outboard on it and expand my range that I usually kayak fish.
I think I saw on the post a pic of your boat thread that you have an old town discovery sport ss150 right? I am looking to buy something like that used and see an older model that they don't make anymore (The 13 foot model, but it's just as wide as the 15 foot model). Is that pretty stable to stand up and cast in?
Also looking at Gheenoe's as well. If anyone has any info to sway me in either direction I am all ears. If there's a similar alternative out there not mentioned here please let me know.
Basically I want it to be able to accomodate a small outboard, fit in the back of my truck (I have a bed extender), and be stable enough to stand in. And I'd like it to access the same skinny water right now that I can with my Hobie Pro-Angler but I wouldn't think that would change with any of the models listed here.
TIA

I wouldn't want to load a Gheenoe with outboard, into a bed. I've looked at them before but for the same price you can get much more boat.

I duck hunt out of a 15 foot gheenoe with a 7hp stump jumper long tail. Very stable boat. The motor only weighs like 60 pounds. Can push three 200+ pound guys and all hunting gear. Not very fast though.

With that load it can run in about calf deep water.

Yessir - technically mine is an Old Town Predator SS150 but that model was renamed the Discovery Sport 15 sometime in the past couple of years.

For 1 man, it's plenty stable to stand and fish. Two guys with good balance could also stand and fish.

Fantastic boats. More stable than the Old Towns you're looking at, but also much more difficult to paddle if that's something you think you might ever need to do. Today I was in a small river that was too shallow for my outboard, but in places could be paddled. Just a thought.

River Hawk Boats make some boats very similar to Gheenoes from the research I did. There's a handful of other manufacturers making boats like that too.
ETA: Square Stern Canoes - check out this link. It has lots of these types of boats.

I load my canoe into my Ranger, with no bed extender, and put the little 2.5hp motor I have just laying in the bottom of the canoe for travel. It's a handful for one man (Canoe is 118#) but I do it. For 2 guys it's a piece of cake. I have stood and fished in it in very shallow water as well as open water with waves - very stable.
ETA: With 2 men and gear, the "Rouganoe" runs 7-8mph with my 2.5hp Merc and needs about 1' of water. If I had a way to jack up the motor or use a shorter shaft, I could run it in about 8" of water or less.
