Public Hunting land for duck

Ive never hunted public land for ducks.This weekend I took my new boat down the vermillion river and found a little lake off of it that had alot of ducks how do i know if I can hunt this area.

Hunt, then see if someone comes and tells you no.

Check your local ASCS offic for public land maps

Post the coordinates. The owner will surely see it and rightfully claim it if it is in fact private property. If no one claims it you are free to hunt it at will.
