Prices of shotgun shells

I was just thumbing through my Mac's catalog and noticed that a box of 10 gauge Hevi Shot is $50. $5 dollars per shot is crazy. I could see it on a turkey but damn if I would fling $5 at a goose or duck.

All those hevi shells are expensive like that. I picked up a case of federal red box for 200 bucks at Bowies last summer.

are there only 10 shells per box?
if there are 25 like 12 gauge then it's 2$ per shell, not 5$.
