Doing some research for a friend.
Obviously, the price varies with condition and specifics of the boat and trailer. But just in general on a lightly to moderate used 12-14' boat with trailer and motor is there a general price point my buddy would be lookin at? Boat would be used for getting to and from duck blinds and some fishing. I don't think he is looking for anything special but needs a reliable and serviceable boat. Thanks guys for any info.

depends greatly on whether it's riveted or welded
a riveted john boat is worth a few hundred unless it's brand new
shite I have one in my barn he can have

Without putting specifics on it besides a used 12-14' with trailer and outboard, you're looking anywhere from $1800-$4500. 12' riveted with an old 9.9 on the lower end. 14' all weld with a newer 25 on the upper end.

I was shopping for one a few months ago, check out:
Louisianasportsman
Craigslist
Facebook groups-cajun swap shop, louisiana boating and fishing swap shop, etc
Some prices I remember of the top of my head:
12' riveted with an old 7.5 motor (that had never been used), and a rickety old trailer for $900
14' riveted with console, 40 Mariner, and nice trailer for $1400
I just saw a pretty new 16' all weld with a 50 Johnson, power trim, console, and trailer for $3500

You can damn near buy new for the high side price. The 1648 weldbbuilts with 15 tohatsu that we put on the tugs are just under $5k new without trailer.
