I went in this week to shoot my AR pistol and they said they no longer allow AR pistols because people were shooting the ceiling and walls. This is the same range that told me quite a few years ago that I couldn't shoot an SKS and never gave me a valid reason. They are just way too anal for me. But he was really nice when he told me to frick off.

kind of petty to hold that against ownership. i'd be pissed too if certain guns were more susceptible to destroy my property.

What is the point of an AR pistol in the first place?

I don't believe that's the reason.

So .223 is not allowed or only AR pistols? It wouldn't make much sense to ban .223 but allow 454 Casull.

Maybe they should stop the people who are shooting at the ceilings and walls

That is kind of what I was thinking but just ban them all.

.223 is allowed, but you have to tell them what kind of ammo you are shooting. Apparently they use cardboard as their backstop.

Also, they have every right to refuse any type of weapon they want. And I have a right to talk about it on this message board.

Actually Precision posted that on they were banning AR pistols on their FB a few months ago. I'm totally okay with a local business making decisions like this...It's their facility, their insurance, their business.

It has been the rule since March 14th. They said if you pay $100 you can shoot your ar or ak pistol there. Don't blame the business, blame the fricktards who ruined the ceilings.

Only AR and AK pistols are banned, but they will allow range members to shoot them. .454 Casull would be shot on the 15 yard pistol range with less chance of hitting the walls.

Before the range ban, AR pistols had to be shot in the 25 yard rifle range. You'd be surprised at the number of people who can't hit a silhouette target at 25 yards using a rifle. Give an AR or AK pistol to the general public, and they'd be lucky to hit the target once out of 30 with the "boolets in their clips."

The M855 green tip "steel core" ammo doesn't affect the back of the range nearly as much as it tears up the concrete walls, target carriers, and ceiling when the "pray and spray" types rapid fire.

Because Commie gun.

Kidding. We have one that my great uncle straight up jacked off of some Viet Cong while he was behind enemy lines. Hangs up in our study.

Well if the reason you may be eluding to is the real reason, I don't hold that against them either.

If I had a gun range I might ban guns that certain folk are prone to shoot sideways as well.

Nice. They are allowed, but only if you pay extra. Another reason I'll never go.

Baker Gun Range from here on out.

Think of it as the "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service" policy. Sure, I agree it's your right to walk around half naked, but it's just plain old distasteful and trashy. It should be up to the owner though.
