Thoughts go out to your father and your family.
He should be able to move around, fish, etc. right?

Thanks to everybody. The power of prayer is amazing.
Dad cam through the surgery very well. No complications whatsoever. The Doctor said he has good, healthy tissue that should heal up just fine. He will have to spend about a month in a nursing/rehab facility and he will be fitted for a prosthetic foot. He will have to learn how to adjust his life to it but, he will have a good quality of life and he may soon get to resume living a normal life and wetting a line on occasion.

Great news, man. Be there for him all that you can.

Great news surgery went well. Make sure someone is checking his eyes very regularly for diabetic retinopathy that can be just as devastating or worse if it's that bad in his foot.
Prayers sent!
