Powerline and cover

I have a question that I can't find online. Thanks in advance.
I have a power line running across my property. It is about 100' wide. They are going to widen it to 150' wide this spring.
I am not going to plant the entire power line and since deer do not really like crossing wide open spaces I figure I might be able to give them a comfortable place for them to cross if I planted some Satsuma trees in one area.
But periodically the power line company comes through and sprays poison to kill back the brush.
So would they avoid my little citrus orchard? Is there anything I can plant that they would recognize that even though it is head high it isn't going to grow into tree sized problems for them?
Anyone have any experience with this?

LOL, I have actually thought of that! I have two that could be put to use but I would need more than just two. LOL
I like the thought process there. I have thought about different things such as tarps and some sort of vine covered lattice work/hinge cut tree type of area.

Wouldnt waste your time, that's technically their right of way and they will spray them or mow them down every time.

Says who? Sure the old wise bucks will be wary to cross it in the daylight ........... until the rut.
If he's trailing a lady that crosses it, guess where he's going. Does and younger bucks will come out all season. Even in the daylight.

I would venture to say a pipeline/powerline ROW is the number two spot for deer getting killed right behind corn feeder/food plots in Louisiana

I've hunted powerlines before and done well. They will clear it out periodically. I hunted one that was cleared out every few years. When growth was allowed to come up it was great hunting.

We have a power line on the property we own. Our land is rolling so we have ridge slough, ridge slough the power line crosses. The deer cross at the water line on both sides of the ridge they cross it religiously. We keep it thick on the ridges and mowed around the sloughs waterline so we can shoot. So keep a lot of cover on it. The utility company came through 4 years ago and bush hogged it. Now they just come through and spray trees. If a thick it is getting to tall they will spray it. Not one tree off the power line has been Effected. We planted persimmon trees about 30 yards off and they are golden. They will manually come in on a tractor or truck and spray. It's not like a crop duster nuking everything it falls on.

I let an area get over grown and the deer do cross there a lot if they aren't heading to a powerline food plot. So I know they prefer the cover.
I can plant corn but I am looking for something that is more permanent so it isn't a seasonal thing. I want them to know it is there 365 days a year. I want them to grow up using it to establish the path.

Pour pile of rice bran on powerline
Put climber on deer trail going to rice bran about 300 yards in the woods

We have a powerline running through our property. We have 5 separate fields on the powerline. It's a few of the best stands we have in our lease. They will cross it.
