I already have a danforth and cajun anchor...really want a power pole. To those that have invested, are you satisified it was worth the $2K expense?

I have fished in lots of boats with people who have them and their only regret is that they didn't get one sooner.

I will say this: They are nice. Are they $2000 nice. No. An anchor has worked fine for generations.

I just bought one but haven't got it installed yet! Got it in the live auction at the Tangi. CCA banquet for half off! But I can think of multiple times I wish I had one

Go dual or go home.

That being said, I don't have even one ...but I have seen first hand that you spin around like a top with only one in the wind.

I wouldn't own a fishing boat without one. I put the micro on my duck/redfish boat, and the only reason it took so long was because I wasn't sure if it could handle the weight. I'm beyond satisfied with them. I only have one on each boat and never wished I had two. Seems a little excessive when you can just play the wind. That being said, whether it's worth the $2000 to you is subjective and depends on your own financial situation. I would say absolutely, yes.

I used the money BP paid me from the oil spill for having a fishing license to buy one. Worth every one of BP's pennies.

Worth every penny, wish I would have gotten one on the boat when I bought it.

For my technical poling skiff, it was a must have. If I had more money to blow at the time, I would have had two. It made fishing by myself much, much easier. A regular anchor in tight cuts in the marsh would be useless in some of the ways I used the power pole. I couldn't push pole up to a fish, throw an anchor, and cast. I could however hit a button and make a cast. Totally worth it if you have the money, no doubt.

The last boat I had came with one. It was great to have and when I get another boat it will have a power pole.

Think the micro could handle an 18' Xpress? I dont like how the regulars stick up above the motor for some clearance issues.

When stuck, y'all don't worry about the waves coming in at the stern?

Depends on the weight man. My boat is an 1850 with a 36 Pro Drive. Probably weighs about 1500lbs loaded with dudes and fishing gear. The micro has no problem. It's not gonna stick you to a stop coming off plane or anything like that, but I've had it down in +20mph winds and had no issues whatsoever. Sometimes it's a little slow coming up when it's blowing like that, but it's never been stuck to the point of me having to go back there and pull it up myself.

Thx guys...will start saving for one. I fish a lot solo and think it's worth the hassle.. Now that I have a bayboat and can get to the beach I've found the cajun and regular anchor can be a pain to get set.

Want a new GPS, with better maps but think PP wins out.

Best thing you'll purchase. The ease of use is worth the price tag

I still throw out the anchor on the beaches but the PP is clutch in most areas. I don't think there is any disadvantage to owning one to be honest.

Powerpoles are nice but are about as reliable as a Mexican Rolex.

I see hydraulic issues pretty often but other than that they're reliable
