Power Converter- Camper
Posted by cole_cole_world on 5/15/17 at 10:37 am00
So went to the camp this weekend and noticed my AC wouldn't come on. I have electricity and everything else works. I am thinking that the 12V power converter may be out, anyone else ever had this issue?

Did you check the breaker? Mine trips often.
Sorta related. I now run an extra cord to connect as many things as possible to it rather than the camper outlets. I get way fewer breaker problems.

No flipped breakers or anything. Main issue is that my AC thermostat is 12V and doesn't work now.

I had to replace mine once, but I cannot remember why. Now, the cover will not stay shut

I converted mine from 30a to 50a service...never get a breaker issue anymore...

unless things have changed, it seems to me like all of the lights in campers are generally 12V...if the 12V was gone, I think they would not work.

The lights also don't work. Got some clarification on this today, didn't quiet get the whole story the first time.
Pretty sure it is the converter.

Lightning strike got my converter about 3 weeks ago. A/C, refrigerator, and lights were out. When you replace it, but an RV surge protector also. Worth the money. I learned the hard way.

Got one that I took out of a camper if you need it. I removed the complete breaker box. Don't know if it is good or what. Free, live in the New Roads area.
