Just grab them. They're docile creatures.

Whack in the head, pick them up by the tail and sling against a tree.

I'd prefer not to kill them. It's a mom and 3 little ones. I guess I'll pay the man ...

Live trap bait it with left overs or cat food,,cost about 30 at tractor supply or the local feed store..then take it down the road somewhere and turn it out

Spoke to a guy who did this type of thing for a living. Seems they can and do have a lot of babies quite often.
Get at least one trap, more than one would be best. If I'm not mistaken this guy put marshmallows with peanut butter on them in his traps.

No way I'm paying $200 to remove possums... Live animal trap and relocate would be my first choice, 22 would be choice #2.

I tried catching a possum with all sorts of baits, and meauxjeaux suggested using a dollar menu McDonalds cheeseburger, and holy shite that bastard was in there the next day

Some of my friends were raising chickens for eggs, and kept having possum and raccoon problems. They finally tried marshmallows and they swear it was like crack to a possum. Trapped like 4 or 5 of them over a week. Relocated them to the country.

That was basically the story of my short career as a fur trapper.
