Any of you baws tried to catch a few bass in the OBA area? I'm not crazy about the idea of fishing the surf and I have a hunch they're a few nice bass to be caught. Any tips or sharing of experience would be awesome

done it before and caught nothing but hard heads and lady fish, being from here I see non point in that other than to catch a buzz also.

I know it's in Gulf Shores, not Orange Beach, but have you tried wade fishing Little Lagoon for trout, redfish, and flounder?

I'm going there this weekend. Is it worth bringing a pole?

Bass fished in the lake at the gulf shores state park one June. Caught 2 one morning from the kayak. Had 9 year old with me, so wasn't fishing hard.

From 2013 article about Lake Shelby:
"The edges of the banks at Shelby have plenty of structure and cover, but up until a couple of years ago, no structure or habitat was in the middle of the lake. We placed 100 Christmas trees, with cinder blocks on their bases to hold them upright, to enhance the habitat for fish in the middle of the lake. I’m often asked, “How big are the bass in Lake Shelby?” One of our anglers told me he had caught a bass that he could put his entire fist in its mouth and estimated it weighed over 5 pounds. So, when you visit the beach, plan to freshwater fish at Lake Shelby."

Across the street from the Phoenixs, behind The Flying Harpoon they have 7 or 8 good fishing holes.
