I'll weigh up some parts tonight vs my sig 716 but this thing sure feels right in my hands. Should be a full 2lbs less than the sig. Not only is it lighter but I'm more interested in the bolt...it's supposed to be the same size physically as a 223/556 so the claim is it feels like shooting one. More to come...

You seriously need to buy a cheap ugly firearm one time just so you know what it's like for the rest of us poor bastard. Is that your first MFT Miminalist stock? I have one and I'm not a fan.

Feel as in weight/maneuverability or recoil? Even my 6.5G has a significantly more noticeable kick than my 223/556.

I imagine a lot of that can be attributed to that massive muzzle brake. Better double up on ear pro!

Nice rifle! Report back to us after a range day.

I know I have some in my safe but who wants to see that. Really tho im going to be selling off my sig to fund this one.

Supposedly the recoil is less becasue the bolt has a lot less moving mass. Im interested to see if its just marketing. Its logical but will I be able to tell.

Not sure on glass at all. For now my ATN x-sight will sit on top.and maybe for good (or other NV options) I was trying to have this gun in time for my pig hunt but naturally it came a week after.

First MFT I just put one on a m&p 15-22...thing is right at 5lbs with a empty mag, mbus, and a bushnel t25 RD. Havnet shot it yet...

Oh yea I bet it goes bang quiet loudly. I dont have a standard 223 with a brake on it currently to do a better comparo. Ill use my spikes standard punisher 223 that has my slid fire. It does not have any kind of light weight stuff...just a joe blow ar15.

Very nice. I had a 762 POF with the same brake. That is one loud MF.

Ok looked it over last night and did some side by side with my sig 716 and a spikes jo blow 223 with a slide fire stock. The POF is .29 more than advertised. I sent them the question...why.

Everything else is awesome! The size of the bolt and the size of the gun next to the sig is amazing. Almost a full 2lb...had it came in at its advertised 7.3 I'd be just at 2lbs.

It's pretty close to the 223 size...they say it's the same size as the pof 223 so I'd imagine it's a little different. But look how long the sig is to the front of the mag well. POF took a big chunk out the back area of the receiver by the buffer tube area.

Comes with a fluted barrel and a heat sink barrel nut.

My ears are skeered

Now some do t like how POF rail is taller than usual. And it is but I don't mind it. They have a section of rail missing for weight savings and it allows you to mount your scope a little lower.

I mounted my xsight to see how it fits and it's so much better than on my sig. in the sig with it all the way back I still could have used it a little further back and a touch higher. With the way the rear of the pof receiver is I can get the scope back about a inch further and it floats down to a perfect (for me) eye relief. I can grab the charging handle with ease...something I could not do on the sig ever.

I didn't realize the POF was a piston rifle. That makes the low weight even more impressive. I'm sure the fluted barrel helps with that as well.

I also notice that the BCG for the POF is not overbuilt at the rear to compensate for carrier tilt like it is on the Sig. I guess time will tell if that will be an issue. But the weigh savings sure is there and it's easy to see.

If you go to a public range be sure to warn the shooters next to you. I hate the dick that just pops in a spot and starts blasting a giant brake without telling me.

I'm impressed how much shorter they were able to make the receiver. Definitely give us an update after throwing some lead downrange.

That was one of there selling points in the vids I watched. They made it as heavy as they could and its still light. Rifle length hand guard, Piston run with a big adj block on the end, few lightning cuts in the receiver. If they wanted to make it really light and change some of that and use titanium I bet it could go below 7. The 2A armament is claimed to be 6.7.

So they claim 7.3 and I get 7.59...I never paid much attention to that before. IS that the acceptable norm in difference or does it seem they should change to 7.5

I wish I could use my hybrid on that brake...I love the look of it...but your right it will punish. I made the mistake one time letting off my browning 270wsm with the boss brake out of a deer stand without ears. Once they stopped ringing I told myself never again Now that sig I could fire all day out the stand...

It wasnt my best moment. I thought I can stick it far out the stand, clinch up and take it just the one time...

Also I swapped up the spikes and POF uppers and lowers to see how they fit. The pins would 100% line up but there are other parts in the way for total closure.
