When is the best time to plant tomatoes for the Fall in southeast Louisiana? Looking on LSU Agric website they suggested a date range of 7/1 - 8/15 for tomato plants. This seems early due to the hot summer temperatures. Should I wait maybe until September?

I'm also looking at planting snap beans(8/10-8/31) and bell peppers (7/15-8/15).

I'm waiting until the end of the month, last year I waited until Sept and we got a lot of rain and I got them in late and lost them early. Snap beans you can plant any time, we mine play out I cut, till and replant.

I just planted some only because there were a few plants they were practically giving away but I know I'm a bit early.

Last year was the first year I ever planted anything for a fall crop and I only planted banana peppers and couldn't believe how much better they produces.

I would try to gett them in around the end of August....that gives them a few weeks of warm nights before the fall sets in...
