Neighbor from about 1/2 a mile away has a pit bull and it's been in my yard the last two days. It has fought with my non-trashy neighbors big dog.
WWYD about it?

probably not worth getting in trouble with the law for shooting it

Tell your neighbor to pick up their trashy dog or you will take matters into your own hands

Even in my yard where my little kids need play? When it has shown aggression to other animals?

Good idea except I don't want them picking up the other roaming dogs.

My neighbors pit ran up on me one night when taking the trash out. It rammed its face into my foot for some reason. Then just backed off about 10 feet and growled at me. Their other dog, a lab, just stood in the street and wagged its tail.
I did make the mistake of spraying that pit with the hose. I guess it loved playing with the water.
That dog had always been friendly before, it was weird.
I sprayed that dog with the hose until it was soaking wet everyday for like a week. I think the owners got the point.

Put out a trap and charge the owner to get it back.

I wish the Mexican farming hands would just take care of it. I would cook them some barbecue or something. I'm no pendejo

Related question. What gun would you buy your wife for dealing with such situations in your absence?
But I guess I should know the answer is Judge.

Animal control won't do much unless the dog is aggressive and attacks someone.

Seems like we'd be better off without them then.

Are you in a rural area or inside city/town?

Call the police. They'll shoot it more than likely.
