If you had a choice between a Sig P226 Legion 40cal DAO/SA or a Sig 1911 Tacops Threaded Barrel what would be your choice. They both seem to run in the 1000$-1200$ range. I know it's almost apples and oranges I'm just trying to decide.

Why .40?

ETA: do you have or are you planning on getting a suppressor for the threaded barrel?

I would go with the Legion. They are beautiful guns. Unless you have a suppressor to run on the Tacops threaded barrel. Then I would go with the 1911.

As much as I love the legion I'm not sure I would put money into a 40 cal.

This x1000...... I will never own another .40 caliber pistol. Give me a 9 or 45 any day. That alone would have me buying the TacOps

Brother in Law has the 40, and wants to trade. I have the 1911 and a can for it. The can doesnt bother me I have other pistols with threaded barrels. Not much of a 40 fan either, but I do know the Legion is a really nice firearm. Only reason I'm even considering it. If it was a P226 9mm SAO Legion it would be a done deal.

Just way too different holding a double stack vs single. I say you need both.

I agree but if I'm going double stack it's going to be the FNX Tactical.

Modern bullet technology has made it obsolete. It's a good round. But 9mm gives me more capacity, reliability, longevity, cheaper to operate, for most people more accurate, ammo availability, etc.

At work we were just discussing how the advances in bullet technology have helped the 9mm and somewhat even the 380 be thought of as quality defensive rounds again.
