In beaver lake arkansas probably released there by someone who had it as a pet which begs the question should exotic pets ie snakes piraña etc be outlawed

good question though. i think you have a solid case for making them a lot harder to acquire considering the consequences we've already seen from a variety of other animals. Particularly in FL, but in other parts of the US as well.

Unfortunately, LA's worst invasive species are by far plants, and those get brought in by the shipping traffic that our livelihoods depend on. it's a shitty situation and i don't see any silver bullet for it.
