The bill was $254.96 for one buck that went about 200 lbs on the hoof. Does that seem a little high?

Vines?

That's real high unless you got a butt load of jerky and 50/50.

That's about a hundred twenty where I'm at but it's 1.50 per vac bag.

What did you get made. If you got sausage and ground meat mixed with pork all vscuuum sealed that's average price.

I'd say not out of the ballpark if it was something mixed like sausage.

22 pounds of jalapeñoand cheese sausage, 22 pounds of rice and cheese sausage, 20 pounds of breakfast sausage and 17 pounds of ground deer and pork. I had the rest cutting to backstrap steaks and some cube steaks.

Can't remember exact prices that my grandparents used to charge when they had a processing business, but with that much sausage and having some half/half, it doesn't seem terribly out of line.

I think this is what I normally get but I guess I don't remember it being over $200 in years past but I guess this deer may have been a good bit bigger. I did a doe that was 100 lbs and my last years buck I only got 40 pounds of sausage total. I'm not complaining because this is by far the best sausage I have ever had.

Spend to get the deer meet:
$254 processing
$1800 corn
$1200 fuel
$3500 new deer blind
$300 new deer feeder
$600 for deer mount
$7000 for camp expansion

Even if you take out the blind, feeder, and camp expansion that's like $38 a pound

$146 a pound if you add it all up.

I build my own and by the time you buy everything it's probably close to that.

Wild game Funnel
Wildgame Lid
Moultrie leg bracket kit(brackets only)
12 Solar Panel
12 volt battery
Everlast Feeder unit
3 7 foot hurricane fence poles for legs
3 T-post to tie it to
55 gallon metal drum

You spent all that money (minus the processing fee) and only killed 1 deer? You could save a lot of money and hunt public land and kill a doe every year. I'm guessing it's not about the meat though.

I enjoy working at the ranch, spending time in the brush and hunting in general. I always kill at least one deer a year.

You don't want to do that math, I did/do it with fishing and it'll give you pause.
