People who take bay boats way out offshore are some pretty not smart people.

I can understand going out to the close in platforms that you can see, but Sat. we saw a group in a 21 ft. bay boat, 30 miles out in South Tim. It was rough on us going out in an offshore boat. It's amazing more aren't killed. Especially the way those storms popped up off of Grand Isle on Friday.

I'm a little worried about the blue water even if in an offshore type boat. I'll stick to the rivers and lakes.

I have the extreme need to be able to swim to safety wherever I am.
I'm not going out in anything less than 2 outboards on it ever again.
Got caught in a single engine Grady White back when I was a kid halfway between Chandeleur Ilsand and Ship Island when the motor quit.

Man,frick that noise.

this falls under the "just cause you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD" category...it'll seem fine until conditions turn bad and then people die

was fishing a tourney, had my son on board and another friend.
Looking back it was real dumb to put my kid in a situation like that.
All I can say is,thank baby Jesus for self bailing hulls because My bildge could not keep up with all the waves I speared that day.

Go ahead and put me in the pretty not smart category. I've been 40+ miles out in my 22 ft blackjack out of fourchon and I will be going 20 or so miles out of venice tomorrow in it.
