I know they aren't the best rifles, but does any have any experience with they .308 SASS. I have been wanting one but the armalite version would break my bank.

DPMS has upped their quality over the recent years. I would feel confident with a DPMS 308.
I would stick the SR25/DPMS pattern 308s as they have better mag options.

Just like above, the SASS from DPMS is a fine rifle.
That being said, make sure you get one of the newer G2 models.
ETA: Noting wrong with the older ones if you can get a deal on it.
