Anyone have any experience with them. I'm intrigued by the supposed versatility of them. Shallow draft, very economical, capable "offshore", ect.

So to coin a phrase from a panga style boat manufacturer...

Are several million fisherman worldwide wrong?

ive been contemplating this style myself. Something versatile enough for trouts and reds in the bays while still capable of running to nearby rigs for snapper and cobia. When i went to Belize, it seemed to be the boat of choice for the guides there.

Exactly, but it all sounds too good to be true. I am thinking that maybe it just does it all to a "descent" extent but nothing really well?
I am really interested in them anyway.

They are everywhere outside of the US.

They are good for coastal the waves, and easy beaching.

There narrow beam tho makes em tippy...................

I'm buying one once I build a garage for it. The Bonefish 22 with a 150 on it. Can't wait.

Been looking at the Andros line for years, but I'll wait for the right time to order one.

Andros' are expensive if you didn't already know that.

My 21ft deep-vee is tippy too.

The very rare snap roll scares the shite out of me.

Considering they have 4 adults in there, 2 in the middle and 2 to port (with one hanging over the gunnel), that isn't that bad.

Go to picture 9, 17 and 18 of the Factory link and you'll see why. Andros makes some bomb proof boats.

ETA: They almost never come up for sale on the used market either. Maybe 3 or so Bonefish have ever been sold used.

Yeah, you hardly ever see them used. There was a Andros 26' getting some work done on it's tower down the road from me a while back. They do make a beautiful boat.

That is one thing working against the style of boat for me, it is hard to find people with much experience with them.

holy shite Andros makes come nice boats. I really dig the closed transom on the 23' and 26' models. I always swore one day i would own a 26' Regulator but the 26' Tarpon is giving me second thoughts.

What is the price range of these boats? If they are that shallow running I would have to think they pound a good bit in a heavy chop.

looking at the pic in Gaston's post...looks like the 22' model. I have to wonder how "bad" is the Andros tipping with 4 grown men and a load aboard compared to something like a Nauticstar 2200xs (small offshore CC).

Looks to be heeling pretty damn hard. You can see the chine is completely out of the water and there a good 1' difference in free board from port to starboard which is a huge angle of heel on a 8' beam. Seems a little tippy for my tastes. I love the look of the hull though. I am not sure you could pull the chine out of the water on a 22' nautic star.

Tippy just comes from the 7' beam of the boat. It also doesn't drift as well as others due to the wind drag of the higher bow.

The 2200 take up to a 250hp, these pangas run 150s on them. Efficiency, the ability to run and get up in skinny water, the high bow gives you the ability to get out of much worse situations at sea (with power obviously), the self bailing nature, and ultimate customability of the boat are some traits that set it apart.

If you are taking seas to the side of the boat the narrow beam will produce more of a rocking motion than a wider one would. That's what's behind the tippy talk.

It's not really exposing that much. 7' beam too. Gotta give something to get something. With a 150 hp on a 22 foot boat, you're definitely going to have give something.
