Power ?

I have the electric CMC, I would not have another boat with out one.

It depends on the way you fish. I Fly fish the shallow marsh and my boat has a 12" tunnel made for running shallow. As for speed you only gain a couple mph.

By all means yes........

A jack plate will help you with your takeoff in shallow water, let you traverse shallows and add to top end speed among a lot of other neat things.

DO IT

The boat has a dead rise of 50, 20, 15 so it has a fairly deep V. "Published" draft of 1'" and with a dry weight of 2250lbs, I'm not sure how accurate that is. I've read mixed review about the benefits of a jack plate. I've even read where, under certain circumstances, they have reduced performance.

That's why I ask. We're talking approx $1K installed as an option. If I can get measurable benefit and it adds to resale, I'll consider it. Otherwise, I'd rather put the money elsewhere.

I'm by far not a pro fisherman, but where I fish you need it. Running in 8 inches of water to back ponds chassing Reds.

2 people with gear about 6 inches.
3 people with gear about 8 inches.

Nice setup for Boat, did you ask how much more for the 200hp.

See, my boat's published draft is 12". I'm assuming it's more like 15", at least. Not sure what a $1K jack plate will buy me. I don't mind paying for options that matter and will help resale. I'm still not sold on the jack plate for my boat. BTW, I'm buying the BX20BR which has the bathroom in the console, primarily for storage and resale.

rated for 200HP. Comes with the 115HP stock but I'm upgrading to the 150HP. From what I've read, this will be plenty enough power....for me.

I fish shallow and just trim up.

But I dont run 50 thru ponds

If its your dream boat go for it but if you hold and resell in 10 years it wont have any value but may make it sell quicker

I got one just because i had the money to spend.
I have used it on occasion, definitely added a mph to the top end.
Also use it when it real choppy to keep the motor lower and once when I was in real shallow water.

Wish I would have invested in the power poles, that's my next thing to get.

Also price adding Trim Tabs.

After looking at the website, i call my friend to ask what he had. He has the Bx 22 with a T-Top with a 200 Mer. Very nice
boat and can handle the chop will. He fishes the Twin Span.
