Blasphemy.

Seriously though, what's your opinions on the LaRue vs Daniel Defense AR10's if I had $2,500 to throw down on a rifle?

I'd probably lean towards the Daniel, especially given the new mlok rail. Larue will likely shoot a little better, but it still has a few dated features. I can't believe the OBR is still made in its current iteration.

Honestly, though, at that price range, save another $500 and get a GAP10 G2. Bartlein barrel, Seekins receivers, SSA-E, 5" group at 1000yds. Pretty tough to top. I would chunk that big rail and get something a little lighter though. Only downside is the build time (8-10mo)

Right... Don't buy a battle proven rifle from a company that the US military has trusted to make all of their m16 and m4 service rifles for over 50 years.

Go online and "build your own" ar15 by piecing together cheap parts from discount online gun sellers. Then tell everyone it's the same if not better than what the US military uses

I hope this was facetious

You're right. The military doesn't buy anything of quality. That's why the Marines put a trijicon RCO on every service rifle.

Cheap arse trijicon scopes are complete shite

They're fine optics. 1 data point doesn't really aid your argument though. You can't possibly think that MIL/LEO buys things based solely on quality

The military takes into account quality and price. No doubt. Contrary to what you may have read on the internet, they don't just buy the cheapest crap from the lowest bidder.

There seems to be a lot of Colt haters on the OB for some reason.

To say that a $500 Smith & Wesson ar15 is of the same quality as a $1000 Colt is laughable

That isn't the point he is making. As someone who has family in large arms contracting, there is serious political bs that goes on with contracting. Lots of quid pro quo. Many companies get contracts for reasons beyond quality or cost.

Glock agrees...the contracts are very political.

I don't think anyone has said that they hate Colt. I think what they are saying is that for the same price or less than that of a Colt, you can get a product that is either better or will serve the buyer just as well. There is no need these days to pay the premium for the Colt roll mark.

The other main thing here is these are "mil-spec", most are pretty much the same at certain levels. They arent the only supplier and it's not like Colt has some proprietary production or product, except for when they had "M4" there is nothing unique.

IMO an unused Colt in a box will be easier to sell and have a higher resale value, all thing equal to begin with but "what's the intent on the original purchase", should always be considered. If you are looking to have an AR to play with, you cant really beat the PSA deals

Wrong.

You will not find a higher quality rifle for the same price as a Colt.

You are paying a premium for quality. And for the roll mark.

The resale value for that Colt roll mark that you all hate, is going to be higher than any other m4 rifle you will buy.

I buy a gun to shoot so resale down the road doesn't cross my mind. I've never considered them in the past because I've bought my last AR with carbine length gas. Didn't they recently announce a mid length gas model? Maybe I should start looking at them again. Something about the colt roll mark makes the whole rifle feel better :)

I never said that they did.

yeah, because a 6920 should be the same price as the S&Ws, the Rugers, the Del-Tons, etc.

No, it's not.

M&P Sport Gen II

Colt 6920

Same shitty stock and grip. Same single stage GI trigger. Same 7075 T6 aluminum receivers. same included MBUS. same fixed A2 FSB.

Despite that, S&W MSRP is $739, Colt MSRP is $999. What on the Colt is giving that extra value?

here you go. LINK

better stock, better grip, mid length gas system, 1MOA guaranteed barrel, ALG ACT trigger, free float MLOK rail from MI, AND it's cerakoted. Made in BR too. Price? $1024.99. Same ballpark as a Colt, and better in every way.

I've been in this industry for a while and I've seen just as many improperly staked castle nuts and gas keys on colts as I have on Del-Tons. Sorry dude, Colt is just like the rest of the sub-$1000 ARs. they all buy shite from the same companies and just assemble and ship.

What's the quality difference in my FN and Colt? Both are around the $1k mark.
