You clearly have a significant budget, and if you are looking to keep it lightweight these are my suggestions:

BCM stock
Geissele 7" rail
Get a flash hider. What kind of can are you looking for? Surefire and Silencerco flash hiders are both top notch.
For grips, I like the Magpul K2+ or BCM Mod 3.

Do it. I've had Noveskes on all my builds and they kick arse. Go chrome-lined

but if I were building now I'd wait on this

I wonder how expensive that will be and when it'll be available?

I'm not sure. Haven't even started researching them yet. I've never had one. Would you recommend one over the other?

Yeah I think that's what I'll go with.

I've also been looking at V7 Weapon Systems products. They have a lot of lightweight products. Has anyone used them?

Traditional mag well block and upper clam shell block work well, but the clam shell won't fit many billet uppers. I got a magpul bevblock and love it, if a first time buyer i highly recommend it above anything else. Also, the magpul armorer's wrench is very well made, and has performed better than other wrenches/multitools ive used in the past.

I've installed a few of their items, all are well made. I got my hands on one of their "extreme environment" gas tubes for cheap so I tried it out. It is significantly thicker than a standard gas tube, and makes for an extremely tight fit over the barrel nut and into the receiver. That is the only product of their's, that I'm familiar with, that I would stray away from.

I built a polymer lower LINK (5.6 oz stripped, lighter than the V7 and battle arms lowers) with all V7 lower parts, got it about as light as I could go.

I had a 16" BCM enhanced lightweight upper on it, but switched it over to another lower for work.

Oh, well in terms of Noveske pricing that's not unusual I guess. Still light years better than that price for a stock.

I've already bought my receivers. I looked into polymer lowers but decided I didn't want to go that route. My lower is still only 6.84 oz.

I'll have to pull out my pictures from when I had it together. I had a post in here several hundred pages back with the info in it.

Eta: found it LINK final product came in at 5lbs 13.1 oz with flashlight, sights and sling.

quote:

Finished my lightweight build:
UPPER
BCM ELW Fluted upper with 13"KMR
BCM gunfighter comp
BCM BCG/charging handle
Unity Tactical vert handstop
Inforce WML
Still need to add sights and aimpoint

LOWER
TN Arms polymer lower
V7 lightweight takedown pins
V7 lightweight bolt catch
V7 lightweight titanium grip screw
V7 lightweight titanium buffer detent/spring
V7 buffer tube
V7 lightweight castle nut/endplate
ALG ACT trigger
BCM mod1 grip
BCM gunfighter stock

If I would have kept it together I would have changed out the upper parts for v7 stuff, I can still shave a few ounces on the lower with buying the v7 safety and the trigger pins.

For those looking to build a lightweight rifle, this thread will help a lot LINK . A lot of info on weights of certain products.

Agreed. Highest price I've seen for a stock is the Troy pdw. But at least it comes with the bcg and buffer

Anyone ever bought anything from this site? I want to get a vertical grip and this is along the lines of what I'm looking for.
